Feature Wooden Gates Construction & Craftsmanship
Our Feature Wooden Gates or Timber Gates are built with traditional deep mortise and tenon joints, cut out of substantial 85x65mm frames to ensure your timber gate remains rock solid for decades. While mortise and tenon joints have been used in wooden gate construction for centuries, we combine this traditional technique with modern high-strength epoxy resins to create virtually indestructible joints.
Our Premium Merbau wooden gates are oiled or lacquered to showcase the natural, rich beauty of the wood (requiring light maintenance before every second spring). Our standard wooden gate range is constructed from engineered Kiln-Dried (KD) Treated Pine and comes primed ready for topcoats.
The timber gates featured below all utilize a heavy wooden frame with traditional cross-bracing in either the top or bottom section. Historically used to prevent sag, these crosses remain an iconic hallmark of classic Victorian and Edwardian timber gate architecture. Tongue-and-groove lining boards are recessed into the frame before final gluing. Heavy-duty ball bearing strap hinges carry the weight, and access is secured via ring latches, D latches, or deadlocks with intercom integration. All timber gates are fully compatible with our automatic gate motors and are custom packaged for safe freight delivery to Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth, and regional Australia.
